Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England) is an English actor. Most famously, she is Missandei in the HBO television show, the fantasy Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie Emmanuel was born on Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England to parents from Saint Lucian, English and Dominican heritage. Nathalie acknowledges her mother as the inspiration for her to pursue a career as an actor. At the age of 10 she was cast as Young Nala in The Lion King, a West End production of The Lion King. Sasha Valentine was her first television appearance in Hollyoaks, the 1995 teen soap opera. Her debut on television came in 2006. Emmanuel was frequent on Hollyoaks up to the year 2010. Her character featured stories about heroin addiction, prostitution, and prostitution.
